Lion’s Fisher Centre

“Kolonel” Esme Kennel’s Volunteer Army by Ged Hirschman.

Esme Kennel from Newlands Lions rounded up 40 volunteers to help with some much work that needed doing at the centre.  The centre is home to some 40 mentally challenged persons as well as 10 old-age people.

20 of the volunteers traded their day time lives to become painters (“re-decorators maybe?”) for a day. The other 20 volunteers was given the task of showing the world how good their “green fingers” are. They, under the supervison of the Jaftagiants, created a new veggie garden from nothing.

Well done to all the volunteers, and a great thank you from all of us.
